Bodies of Water


Toronto sits atop a pulse of ancient waterways, now entombed within an urban catacomb of sewers and pipes. The glacial clays and silts once delivered by these waters were fired into the very bricks that characterize the city streets. The buried creeks, rivers, and springs announce their presence in the city grid through willows, floods, and frost. Bodies of Water convenes with this 10,000-year geostory through painting, stitching, and stacking, asking how we can live in kinship with the rivers below.


Bodies of Water was presented at STACKT Market as part of the 2026 DesignTO Festival, in collaboration with visual artist Lori Harrison.
